ANPA Stop The Bleed Training Project Alimosho Lagos
ANPA, the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas is a not for profit organization and its’ vision is “a healthier Nigeria a healthier world”. The STOP THE BLEED Project® is a drive to train over 1 million Nigerians on prompt life-saving techniques to stop bleeding. As a way to improve care in the communities a commitment of prevention of effects of severe bleeding has been enacted.
Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) in Lagos Nigeria is a major public health concern. Bleeding is the most common preventable cause of death after accidents. Road traffic accidents are common across all Local government areas in Lagos. Alimosho local government area, Lagos Nigeria was reported to have the highest number of Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) with a number of 239 RTA out of the total of 1682 cases reported in Lagos in 2022. Therefore, life-saving interventions and trainings across all local government areas in Lagos need to continue to prevent deaths from bleeding.
